SUMMARY:Requirements Workshop: Digital Climate Twins for Climate Protection
DESCRIPTION:Climate catastrophe\, energy and mobility transition\, circular economy: these challenges define us today and shape our future. You and we know that they can only be met if we use data to break new ground. \nIn this context\, the Data Intelligence Offensive (DIO)\, in collaboration with the University of Salzburg and Spatial Services\, explored how “Digital Climate Twins” can contribute to environmental and climate protection. \nWhat to expect at this workshop: \n\nIn the course of this requirements workshop\, the results of the Digital Climate Twinning questionnaire will be presented.\nYou will also be inspired by partners from the field who are already implementing use cases on the topic of “Digital Climate Twinning” in Austria.\nWhich projects do you want to implement? Together with you and key stakeholders in the domain\, we develop common requirements and target groups.\nCo-creation of use cases for climate protection: Based on the requirements and target groups defined here\, the next step is to create and implement cross-company use cases for climate protection in a design thinking workshop at the end of May.\n\nRegister free of charge.

SUMMARY:International & Connected Data Spaces for Sustainability
DESCRIPTION:Public Kickoff Green Data Hub: International & Connected Data Spaces\nThe Green Data Hub is the core project on Data for Sustainability of the Data Intelligence Offensive (DIO)\, the Austrian association for the promotion of the data economy. As a strong networking platform\, the Green Data Hub provides the foundation for a continuously growing Austrian and European network of more than 180 data-producing\, data-processing and data-using stakeholders working together on a fundamental challenge: To consistently align data transformation with sustainability and to design it in a way that protects the climate and conserves resources. For this purpose\, data-driven use cases for a contribution to the climate goals are developed on the basis of collaborative\, sovereign and secure data use in Data Spaces. The goal is to establish a sustainable European data service ecosystem in which sustainable innovations are created. Cooperation is the guiding maxim in this process: multi-value benefits for the general public are created through cross-organizational and cross-national collaboration. We invite you to join forces and create a sustainable European data service ecosystem! \nJoin in the design now: The interactive Public Kickoff Event \nOn October 12\, 2022 between 14:00-18:30\, the course for the sustainable and digital Twin Transition will be set together. Together with top-class experts from business\, administration\, research\, climate protection and international data ecosystem initiatives\, we will discuss why data is part of the solution we need to achieve the climate goals\, how collaboration in a data service ecosystem can contribute to environmental protection in addition to business value\, and which key issues need to be tackled most urgently. \nDas erwarten Sie bei International & Connected Data Spaces for Sustainability (ICDSS): \nICDSS offers you an insight into the activities already underway and informs you about how you and your company can actively contribute to the development of data-driven use cases to achieve climate goals within the Green Data Hub. In this way\, we can help shape a sustainable future together. \n\nNetwork with the top players of the Austrian and European data landscape as well as leading organizations in the fields of energy transition\, mobility transition\, circular economy & digital climate twin.\nUse your data intelligently and meaningfully: see in theory and practice how collaborative\, sovereign\, secure and sustainable data use in Data Spaces can create innovation\, added value and impact.\nFind collaborative solutions to climate and environmental challenges: Identify together with established research partners the main topics in the domains energy transition\, mobility transition\, circular economy and digital climate twin.\nCreate sustainable impact: Get inspired by existing cross-organizational and cross-national use cases that create business value and contribute to climate goals.\nScale your use cases with European partners: Hear from top international environmental and data initiatives on how use cases can be connected and scaled internationally to create even greater impact.\n\nNote: Due to security regulations in the BMK\, an ID card must be deposited and a security gate must be passed. \nSign up now!

SUMMARY:IEA Networking 2022 - Mission ‚Net Zero'
DESCRIPTION:What is the contribution of the IEA’s technology programs?\nThe event will explore the contributions of the IEA Technology Collaboration Programs to the “Net Zero 2050” goal and the successes achieved so far. The results of the current program evaluation will be presented\, news from the TCPs\, Tasks and Annexes will be shared. \nThe transition to a climate-neutral energy system by 2050\, in Austria by 2040\, requires great efforts from all sectors: it needs a massive expansion of all available sustainable technologies as well as continuous R&D activities to optimize systems and bring new technologies to market in time. \nThe IEA Networking Meeting 2022 is therefore dedicated to the contributions of the IEA Technology Collaboration Programs (TCPs) to achieve the Net-Zero goals. The results of the current evaluation of the IEA Research Collaboration will also be an important focus of the event. \nThe annual networking meeting is an important fixture for the networking of the Austrian IEA community and serves the exchange of current developments and news from the Technology Collaboration Programs\, Tasks and Annexes of the IEA Research Cooperation. \nYou will find the program here shortly. \nTo the registration

SUMMARY:Digital solutions for societal challenges
DESCRIPTION:Vienna Climate Challenge\nAfter organising Hackathons as part of the WTZ-Ost (Knowledge Transfer Center East)\, resulting in fantastic\, innovative\, digital solutions for current societal challenges\, University of Vienna\, together with the City of Vienna\, announced the date of the upcoming Hackathon 2022: \n 19-21 September 2022 \n Aula\, Campus of the University of Vienna (Spitalgasse 2\, 1090 Vienna\, Austria) \nTake a look at the agenda-draft. \nChallenges\nThe Hackathon is organised by the University of Vienna\, together with the City of Vienna. Climate change imposes major challenges\, especially for cities. The City of Vienna defines concrete goals and measures for the city’s climate package\, this is where the Hackathon wants to pick up. Interdisciplinary teams will work on concepts for (participatory) digital solutions to current challenges faced by the City of Vienna on climate. Therefore on one hand challenges were framed that lead to a very specific outcome. On the other hand we present more open challenges\, that raise issues\, demanding creative solutions. \nBackground information can be found here: \n\nSmart Climate City Strategy Vienna\nWiener Klima-Fahrplan (Climate Roadmap)\n\nThe challenges concern the climate topics: climate-friendly neighborhoods\, energy\, circular economy and climate-appropriate behavior. \nSpecific & Open challenges\, Application\, Information etc. can be found here
